Position: Senior Welding Technician

Location: Pomona, CA

Industry: Manufacturing and Welding

Experience Level: Experienced (5+ years preferred)

Job Description:

Join our client's innovative manufacturing team as a Senior Welding Technician, where your expertise and passion for crafting durable and high-quality products shine. In this pivotal role, you not only perform specialized welding tasks but also mentor and oversee the work of fellow welders, ensuring every project surpasses our high standards of excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to welding team members, enhancing their skills and ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Interpret blueprints and welding process specifications with precision.
  • Execute manual and semi-automatic welding operations, specializing in techniques such as TIG and MIG.
  • Apply a wide range of welding methods for custom fabrication, structural construction, and production welding.
  • Skillfully utilize electric/air tools and operate machinery including plasma cutters as necessary.
  • Efficiently manage materials through the Made2Manage (M2M) system to maintain project flow.
  • Assist with plasma cutting, subassembly processes, and materials handling as needed.
 

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, bolstered by over five years of progressive welding experience (or equivalent combination of certification and experience).
  • A comprehensive understanding of welding materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and hoists is advantageous.

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates strong independence yet enjoys contributing to a team's success.
  • Well-organized, punctual, adaptable, and exhibits a professional approach in all endeavors.
  • Must be able to read and accurately measure using a tape measure.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This role involves a blend of standing and sitting work, frequently requiring fine motor skills, lifting moderate weights, and working indoors with exposure to loud noise and various materials safely.

 

Communication:

Effective communication skills are crucial. Must be fluent in English, both verbally and in writing, to maintain high levels of collaboration and service quality with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
