Duties:

Focuses on improving operations that involve information technology within a company. Offers consultation to management in an effort to help the company become more effective. Analyze the hardware, software, and IT services that are being employed in a company. Analyses will have to be carried out in order to determine areas that need improvement. It is also important to have strong research skills in order to determine the latest trends and solutions. Make suggestions as to what should be changed regarding company IT policies, IT structure, and IT operations. When problems are detected, the analyst should carry out problem-solving techniques in order to come up with a solution. When solutions are implemented, the analyst should continue to monitor these solutions to analyze their efficiency and to make continuous improvements. Knowledge of SQL is important, in order to be able to analyze data from databases. Should be able to carry out analyses, such as cost benefit analyses. Therefore, strong mathematical skills are essential. Presentation and report-making skills are important in order to present the findings to upper management. Create project plans for information technology development and testing. Translate requirements into new information technology project specifications. Identify, communicate, and manage risks associated with projects. Identify business or customer requirements and information technology alternatives.

 

Context of Duties

Focuses on improving operations that involve primarily (1) designing and building data pipeline (2) designing and building dashboards. You will work on Intuit’s Turbotax product. It is expected to be in this role to build data pipelines, perform ETLs, clean data, and organize them in a way that is easy to extract critical insights. Most of the work is in SQL and Tableau. These pipelines are then built into dashboards to help businesses visualize and democratize the insights to key stakeholders. There is a need to be on top of the data produced, ensuring its reliability and accuracy. Other partner teams may leverage the data assets you’ve produced so reliability is key. Timely resolution of broken pipelines is a must. Looking for a self-starter who can identify where the data sources are or how they are defined so this individual joining the team can independently complete tasks in an efficient and timely manner. If time permits, this individual may also perform analysis on top of the data to help inform business decisions, like running A/B tests or coming up with product improvements based on the data we are seeing.
