Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing company. The Manufacturing Engineer will optimize our manufacturing processes, improve efficiency, and ensure the highest quality standards. The Manufacturing Engineer will evaluate, redesign, and implement efficient manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, reduce cost, and elevate product quality. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and play a vital role in successfully introducing new products, from design for manufacturability to full-scale production. The Manufacturing Engineer will also create Emeralds' work standards and testing processes for efficiency, reliability, and performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of our current manufacturing process. This will involve identifying opportunities to streamline operations, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.

  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to streamline operations, reduce cycle times, and enhance productivity.

  • Collaborate closely with a cross-functional team to provide crucial input to improve design and manufacturability to deliver quality products, maximizing customer satisfaction.

  • Create and maintain meticulous manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process routing, and bill of materials, to guide production activities and facilitate successfully built products.

  • Participate in root cause analysis efforts to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous product quality and reliability improvement.

  • Identify bottlenecks in production and suggest actions for improvement.

  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects, utilizing lean manufacturing tools and methodologies and enhancing operational efficiency.

  • Implement a visual management system, standard work, and other lean tools to sustain improvement and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Engage with suppliers and vendors to evaluate and enhance the manufacturability of externally sourced components or materials, fostering collaborative relationships and driving process improvement.

  • Provide technical support to production teams, troubleshooting manufacturing issues and implementing sustainable solutions to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.

  • Ensure the final product complies with customers' specifications.

  • Maintains and improves Process Audits.

Job Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.

  • 3-5 years as a Manufacturing Engineer in the Automotive Industry, Transportation, or Manufacturing environment.

  • 3-5 years of Continuous improvement experience in Manufacturing, Transportation, or Automotive Environment.

  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other process improvement techniques.

  • Strong CAD/CAM software knowledge, drafting procedures, 2D or 3D engineering design, and manufacturing tools.
     

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent understanding of GD&T.
     

  • Knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems.

  • Knowledge and proficiency in using Windows-based computer systems in word processing, spreadsheets, and manufacturing resource software.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to persuade and influence decision-making of individuals, groups, or work teams.
     

  • Excellent understanding of quality control standards and statistical data analysis.

  • ERP software experience.
     

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional team suppliers and external partners.
     

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences within the organization.
