Initiative: EmPower+

Programmatic need being met by this request

The Single Family Residential team has a number of high priority workstreams in 2024 for EmPower+, including the applying for and implementing federal grants, preparing for CEF 2.0, and implementing general administrative improvements through system updates.

Certifications and qualifications, including education/degree:

A bachelor’s degree or higher, with 2-4 years of project management experience, preferably in software project management.

IT systems that will be used:

Salesforce, SharePoint, CRIS, New York Home Energy Portal (NYHEP).

Tasks:

This position will support the Single-Family Residential team in its efforts to improve software and systems, including:

  • Developing project plans for features tied to project scope elements
  • Maintain documentation regarding various projects, processes and operations-
  • Requirements gathering and documentation to provide actionable requests for program systems work.
  • Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams.

Skills and Experience Needed:

General Guidance for Expected Years of  Experience : 3+years

Technical & Professional Skills & Knowledge:

Is able to work independently and has a solid understanding of project management methods, processes, standards and tools. The individual needs to be proficient at documenting requirements and specifications, and creating visual aids to represent business processes using standard methods. Experience and skill in discerning true requirements stemming from needs as opposed to business units’ less critical wants and wishes.

Creativity in Project & Program Development

Not fully applicable, however, the ideal candidate needs to have the ability to understand issues at the source level, and creatively find the least expensive, and most reliable solution. Ability to quickly identify and drive the best possible solution when presented with a series of opportunities and constraints.

Organization Skills & Productivity:

Has demonstrated ability to implement projects in a timely manner. Demonstrates the capability to manage all aspects of on-going projects with no supervision. Skill in managing multiple diverse activities simultaneously, delivering on commitments, and operating with speed, accuracy, and strong judgement. People skills have developed to show leadership and an ability to motivate others.

Produces effective and purposeful written material that requires no editing. Constructively edits work and mentor’s junior staff. Effectively represents Authority in difficult or complex negotiations with outside contacts and customers. Presents ideals clearly and concisely in oral and written format.
