Job Description
JOB TITLE: MANAGER – CUSTOMS CLEARANCE AND FORWARDING
JOB LOCATION: DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA
JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Lead the team of Customs Clearance division of the organization.
2. Coordinate and manage all cargo clearance aspects of import ,export and transit shipments through Sea , Air and Land to clear the shipments without demurrages and storages .
3. To ensure proper submission of required documents to statutory authorities in order to have a smooth clearance of import and export cargo
4. Co-ordinate with the shipping companies and Port Authorities on all matters relating to shipments
5. Co-ordinate with various statutory authorities such TRA, TBS, GCLA, TASAC etc. for all matters related to the clearance of shipments
6. Verify Draft BL and suggest necessary amendments required for hassle-free clearance.
7. Raise payment requests to finance department for clearing the shipments.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
1. Should have very good knowledge of customs clearance regulations of Tanzania and neighbouring countries.
2. Good leadership skills to lead the team
3. Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
4. Good computer knowledge to work various software platforms of Statutory Authorities , Port and Shipping Lines
5. Attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulations.
6. Ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced work environments.
7. Good time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Degree / Diploma – Preferably in Customs Clearance /Logistics Managemenr
2. Minimum 10 years of experience in Customs Clearance business
