Job Description

Job Title: Estimator / Sales Representative

Job Location: Amarillo, TX

Experience And Skills Required

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years Road/Highway construction Estimating experience, preferably in Traffic Safety or Pavement Marking.
  • Computer knowledge/skills required in Microsoft Suite, NetSuite, Invarion.
  • Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Report writing and strategic planning skills.
  • Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects.
  • Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and database managers
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and technical documents.
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Understanding of the financial aspects of job costing and “bid to actual results” including variance analysis.
  • Ability to “build” the project to determine the best approach to building the estimate.
  • Understanding of the various equipment utilized within the scope of the operation and the standard costs associated with each piece.
  • Ability to effectively communicate the scope of work, cost basis and margin in the bid review process, including detailed cost components.
  • Ability to analyze historical results for market trends, labor and material trends etc and integrate into the final bid.
  • Industry involvement through trade associations, coalitions with state DOT, or similar.
  • Understanding of financial statements including balance sheet and profit & loss state

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of construction sites.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
