The Gearset Salesforce Deployment Engineer is a key role within the IT or software development team responsible for managing the deployment and release management of Salesforce applications using the Gearset platform. This individual combine technical expertise with a deep understanding of Salesforce architecture and best practices to ensure smooth and efficient deployments of Salesforce applications and customizations.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Deployment Management: The primary responsibility of the Gearset Salesforce Deployment Engineer is to oversee the end-to-end deployment process of Salesforce applications. This includes planning, coordinating, and executing deployments across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Release Management: Collaborate with developers, administrators, and stakeholders to manage the release schedule and ensure that changes are grouped into appropriate releases for efficient deployment cycles.
  • Gearset Implementation: Proficiently utilize the Gearset platform to automate and streamline deployment processes, minimizing manual interventions and reducing deployment risks.
  • Version Control Integration: Integrate Salesforce projects with version control systems (e. g., Git) to maintain a structured and organized code repository and enable effective collaboration among team members.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor deployment activities and promptly address any deployment-related issues, such as deployment failures, errors, or conflicts, to ensure successful deployments.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure that all deployments comply with security best practices and organizational policies, following necessary protocols to protect sensitive data and maintain data integrity.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of deployment processes, configuration changes, and release notes for future reference and to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with Salesforce platform updates and Gearset tool enhancements, identifying opportunities to optimize deployment processes and improve overall efficiency.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to development teams, administrators, and other stakeholders on deployment best practices, Gearset utilization, and release management procedures.

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Salesforce Administrator or Developer certifications (e. g., Salesforce Certified Administrator, Salesforce Certified Platform Developer) are preferred.
  • Proven experience working with Salesforce deployments and release management processes.
  • Familiarity with deployment tools, especially Gearset or comparable Salesforce-specific deployment automation platforms.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce configuration, customization, and integration processes.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture and best practices for building scalable and maintainable applications.
  • Solid knowledge of version control systems (e. g., Git) and their integration with Salesforce development.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot deployment-related issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
