PHARMACY SERVICES ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION
A pharmacy based in Hartlepool are hoping to recruit a hardworking and determined candidate to work within their team of qualified professionals, as an Apprentice Pharmacy Assistant.
This pharmacy is developing and will include delivery of more clinical services. For the right person, there is the opportunity to secure full-time employment and progress to higher level qualifications.
As an apprentice you will be expected to achieve the qualification for the role. This will enable a more challenging and rewarding career.
Expected duration 15 months.
Duties Include
• Delivery of customer service
• Dispensing of medication to patients
• Over counter sales of non-prescription medication
• Check and monitor prescription slips
• Health & Safety Responsibility
• Observing COVID Restrictions and Guidelines
• Use of Patient Record Systems and use of smart card
• Data Entry relating to medication
• Labelling and Dispensing
• Accuracy and Attention to detail
• Numerate
• Working within a team environment
• Liaison with Doctors surgery and health professionals
Desired skills
• Effective communication skills
• Good customer service skills and organisation skills are necessary as there are many interactions during the normal working day with other staff members, patients, and healthcare professionals.

Desired qualifications
Maths & English GCSEs at grades C/4 or above (or equivalent) essential, Science desirable.
Future prospects
Full-time permanent role for the right person. Further potential for other training such as a Level 3 Pharmacy Technician apprenticeship.
