Summary /Objective

Work independently or as part of the facilities team on projects that include building and grounds maintenance, safety and repair, plumbing, electricity, carpentry, and construction. This position requires excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.

Position Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Interior or exterior office construction
• Painting / drywall, interior and exterior
• Handyman, general repair, and maintenance work
• Basic plumbing (clogged drains, minor leak repairs, faucet replacement, etc.)
• Basic electric (fixtures, wiring, circuits, etc.)
• Flooring repair
• Maintaining building structure and grounds
• General facilities maintenance may include: Cleaning of restrooms, kitchens, office areas, and outside grounds. Includes dusting, use of cleaning chemicals, wet and dry moping, vacuuming, scrubbing floors, dusting/ polishing equipment, cleaning tables, microwaves, and other appliances or machinery, furniture and fixtures; cleaning windows and blinds. Trash removal; Filling all dispensers

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Working hours from 7am-430pm (9.5 hours per day)
• Reliable transportation, a clean driver’s license, and the ability to travel to various locations on Long Island and NYC.
• At least two years related experience
• The ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
• The personality and flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities
• Common sense and problem-solving skills
• The ability to work overtime as needed

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least two years related experience
