One of our manufacturing clients in Essex, ON is looking for a Controls Engineer for their facility.

Shift - Days/Afternoon

Responsibilities :

  • Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical equipment and controls, including PLC instrumentation and industrial applications.

  • Communicate the completion of tasks, project progress, and responsibilities to management and stakeholders.

  • Oversee allocated projects from inception to completion, ensuring the delivery of timely and budget-compliant outcomes.

  • Ensure adherence to Pre Start Health and Safety Reviews and project-related protocols.

  • Coordinate teams across functions for the development and installation of projects, documenting objectives, and addressing issues.

  • Develop and update documentation for electrical systems and maintenance.

  • Establish and uphold plant-wide control systems and communication strategies.

  • Provide explicit instructions to trades personnel, including contractors, regarding work scope and adherence to policies.

  • Recognize resource requirements and collaborate with managers to ensure timely project completion.

  • Address and resolve electrical and controls-related issues throughout the entire facility.

  • Fulfill any additional assigned duties as necessary.

     

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of Electrician Trade Certification, a relevant College/University education, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical controls, automation, or related positions.

  • Proficient in PLC and HMI programming. Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills, showcasing the ability to diagnose and address complex control system issues.

  • Experience in managing steam control/thermal processes and systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, motor control circuits, and cable splicing techniques.

  • Knowledgeable about safe work practices in confined spaces, working with heavy equipment, power tools, hand tools, and chemical systems.

  • Preferred previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role.

  • Excellent communication skills to proficiently convey technical information and effectively lead a team.
