Job Title: Senior SQL Server Developer

Client: Hudson Insurance

Location / Hybrid : 2 days a week in NY/NJ - Must be Local – Manhattan, NY is the office.

Contract Length: 6-month contract with potential FTE - CTH 

Salary & Package /Rate :  65-70hr

Rounds: 2 – HM/Tech Lead & one with other person

 

 

Overview of Vacancy

Essential Skills :

This person will be taking a lead when tech lead is not free

Legacy code - figure how to improve it and modify it  - reengineering it - a good amount of old code

Troubleshooting is a must

Able to work on existing code

Work independently - able to research - ask questions when need be

SQL Server - writing the code, performance tuning, SQL querying

Familiar with Azure

  • Will bring a used case out on the interview and they would need to explain how they would go about it

Ideal Candidate – Background etc: Doesn’t matter, but finance/insurance/accounting would help because maybe someone from another domain may not want to work with this type of data.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a SQL Server Developer, with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL programming and performance optimization.
  • Experience with database design, data modeling, and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with data security and compliance standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities and timelines is critical for this role.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft SQL Server certifications.
  • Experience with other database systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle).
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Database).
