Position Title: Assistant Manager – Maritime Logistics
Location: United Arab Emirates
Monthly Compensation: AED 15,000
Operational Oversight:
Coordinate the full cycle of maritime logistics activities, including vessel transport, offshore resupply, storage management, and distribution. Ensure efficient movement of goods, equipment, and personnel to marine bases and offshore sites in a timely and secure manner.
Regulatory Adherence & Documentation:
Ensure strict compliance with local and global trade, transport, and maritime safety standards. Supervise the accurate preparation and organization of all clearance documentation and shipment records, including those related to specialized telecom and tech imports/exports.
Regulatory Body Coordination:
Serve as the lead liaison for government-related digital and communications equipment clearances. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations and ensure inbound/outbound shipments meet licensing and compliance requirements. Sustain effective relationships with key officials to navigate regulatory complexities smoothly.
Inventory Control & Risk Prevention:
Manage stock levels and implement robust inventory strategies to avoid shortages or overstocking. Identify and mitigate potential risks such as transit delays, clearance setbacks, or supply chain bottlenecks.
Team Leadership:
Guide and oversee the logistics operations team, providing mentorship, daily direction, and periodic performance evaluations to uphold service quality and operational standards.
Vendor and Partner Management:
Assess, onboard, and monitor external logistics service providers. Support the development and execution of agreements and ensure service KPIs are achieved through consistent tracking and follow-up.
Process Refinement:
Lead initiatives to enhance workflow efficiency through process enhancements, digital tools, and cost optimization. Benchmark best practices in marine logistics and integrate automation where feasible.
Reporting & Internal Coordination:
Maintain comprehensive records for all shipments, approvals, and operational activities. Ensure timely communication across internal departments, clients, vendors, and relevant governmental counterparts to maintain a seamless logistics chain.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, or related field.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in logistics operations, with proven supervisory responsibilities. Prior involvement in regulatory clearance and coordination in the UAE is highly advantageous.
Sector Insight: Strong understanding of offshore/marine logistics, shipping protocols, import/export formalities, and government equipment approvals.
Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using supply chain platforms (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics or similar), MS Office, and digital tracking tools.
Core Competencies: Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and multitasking skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes logistics environment.
