Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in providing comprehensive nursing care to inmates/residents. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing Licensed Independent Provider’s orders, administering medications, assisting in examinations and treatments, and ensuring the overall well-being of patients.

Duties:

  • Execute Licensed Independent Provider’s orders and administer medications.
  • Assist in examinations and treatment procedures.
  • Attend sick call with the physician, prepare examining room and equipment.
  • Operate pill call and document medication administration.
  • Assess and refer inmates/residents to appropriate healthcare facilities.
  • Perform emergency procedures and notify providers for treatment orders.
  • Coordinate professional medical services and ensure needs are addressed.
  • Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and provide guidance to nursing staff.
  • Maintain good working relationships with facility staff and providers.
  • Utilize established policies and procedures, exercising independent judgment.
  • Maintain security and confidentiality of medical records.
  • Assist in the review of medical files and ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Monitor potential catastrophic illnesses and pharmacy use.
  • Provide health counseling and education to individuals or groups.
  • Prepare and maintain medical records, reports, and logs.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret medical procedures and regulations.
  • Evaluate physical safety requirements and facilitate accreditation processes.
  • Prepare safety and accident reports and take appropriate actions.
  • Escort inmates/residents for medical treatments and perform searches when necessary.
  • Engage in functions to prevent or diffuse disruptive situations.
  • Perform rescue functions during emergencies and disasters.

  • Strong clinical skills and ability to provide comprehensive nursing care.
  • Supervisory skills to monitor and guide nursing staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively within established protocols.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in medical record keeping and documentation.

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Montana.
  • One year of professional nursing experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
