Healthcare Project Manager

Full-time remote position

$120,000- $140,000/year + Benefits (negotiable)

 

Job Description

Seeking an experienced and motivated health care project manager, who enjoys weaving together health care policy and technology in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader, an effective communicator, an independent self-starter, and someone comfortable coordinating multiple tasks and project teams and leading client interactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting a team working to provide Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Innovation Model teams with technology solutions that support their data needs
  • Leading engagements with Innovation Model teams, understanding the data they need to collect and share, and supporting the development and maintenance of the necessary technology solutions to meet these needs
  • Coordinating a team of developers and data scientists
  • Supporting writing requirements, technical documentation, user guides, communication materials, options papers, etc.
  • Leading and monitoring meetings, managing timelines, creating and managing work plans
  • Coordinating multiple teams across multiple contractors in support of common client goals

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in health/policy, social policy, communications, political science, or similar field (Masters preferred) or equivalent relevant experience
  • 5 years of relevant work experience (in addition to experience in lieu of degree)
  • Experience managing projects and teams and coordinating multiple tasks at once
  • Experience mentoring team members to support success
  • Experience with projects that bring together policy and technology (e.g. web applications, websites, portals, data collection systems, public reporting systems, etc.)
  • Experience working independently on projects and  in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience demonstrating initiative, critical thinking, and problem-solving
  • Experience demonstrating strategic and big-picture thinking
  • Experience prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated aptitude and enthusiasm for learning and collaboration
  • Ability to manage workload with minimal supervision

 

Qualifications Desired:

  • Experience working on projects for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) or related Federal or state agency, especially those related to policy, transformation, and/or innovation
  • Experience working on projects related to health care data (quality, clinical, expenditure, utilization, health equity, patient experience, etc.)
  • Willingness to be flexible regarding specific responsibilities, timelines, and tasks as dictated by evolving project needs, and to be trained by and work closely with peers
  • Experience with HL7 FHIR standards
