13 weeks | Nights| 12-hour shift | 36 hours weekly

Looking for Med/surg nurses who are competent in patient safety, (patient education, safe environment, minimizing falls and preventing errors), competent in EMR-Epic, stroke certified (that’s our biggest patient population) post-operation patients, drains, chest tubes, heparin drips, wound care, altered mental status and CIWA patients. Nurses who are good with communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving, team work oriented, dependable, and good with time management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess patients to determine their mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team.
- Provides explanations and instructions to patient/responsible person.
- Demonstrate ability to use nursing clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition.
- Contribute to a healthy workplace environment by managing conflict using professional communication skills.
- Meets Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care.
- Participate in continuing education.
- Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION
Experience: At least 2 years of general nursing experience.
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registration:
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse license
- Require BLS/BCLS certification
EMR System: EPIC experience preferred
Shift: 7 PM-7:30 AM, Weekend Requirement Every other weekend
