Are you ready to illuminate your career with a dynamic and innovative team? We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our team. The Buyer is responsible for purchasing for the assigned manufacturing cell(s). You’ll be well versed in supply chain, and APICS experience is a plus. The role is responsible for ensuring a reliable flow of materials in coordination with other team members: cell leads, strategic purchasing, engineering, and operations management.

What you’ll do

  • Supports value stream purchasing activities to ensure customer on-time delivery and quality objectives are met.
  • Owns MRP inventory commodity code, lead time, safety stock settings related to parts assigned to cell value stream.
  • Responsible for managing purchase orders for components dedicated to the manufacturing cell. Works with strategic buyers who may manage a portion of your purchased components such as PWAs.
  • Leads and champions operational excellence, lean manufacturing initiatives, and continuous improvement.
  • Develops recommendations for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What will make you successful in this role (skills)

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or supply chain related field OR 5+ years of experience in buying or supply chain OR a combination of college achievement and experience.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, raw material specifications, and aerospace specifications.
  • Strong MRP experience is a must.
  • Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Electronics manufacturing experience.
  • APICS experience is a plus.
