JPC - 464 - Senior Tax Manager

The Senior Tax Manager will be responsible for coordinating and implementing appropriate tax training for firm personnel and ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local mandates. Some travel within the US to  field offices may be required.

This position requires that the individual be detail-oriented, have excellent organizational and analytical skills, and have the proven ability to provide viable solutions and action plans on various strategic planning topics within a designated timeframe.

 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Creation, implementation, monitoring, and management of tax control processes and procedures across the North American operations, including collaboration with team members on the development of new strategic initiatives for the growth of the firm’s tax practice and quality assurance for all tax functions
  • Strong initiative, flexibility, and ability to explore alternative strategies to optimize positive outcomes
  • Designing and overseeing tax training, development of staff, and technical initiatives programs
  • Ability to timely provide research on complex tax issues and execution of tax planning strategies
  • Demonstration of a high level of technical tax competencies in Individual, C corporation, S corporation, Partnership, and Fiduciary tax matters; this includes tax return review, and in some cases, preparation of complex tax returns. Experience with Exempt Organizations is a plus.
  • Other technical duties as assigned

 

Desired Skills/ Experience/Attributes

  • 10+ years of progressive experience, including 5+ years in a tax leadership role
  • Has strong verbal and written communication skills
  • CCH Axcess experience preferred

 

Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting or Finance, or other business-related field
  • Active CPA license or EA designation, as well as active PTIN required
