Summary:
Perform complex production assembly on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and aircraft systems using manual or automated tools.
Preferred candidates: aviation experience or completed aviation degrees.
Route wire harnesses per blueprint instructions for the 787 program.
Build connectors, splice, crimp, and terminate wires.
Install connectors to receptacles and electronic components.
Perform repairs and rework per engineering instructions.
Clean and inspect fiber optics, perform light loss testing, and install components.
Bond & ground operations, including CRNs, jumpers, and resistance testing.
Operate various mechanical lifts (e.g., JLGs, Magic Carpets, and scissor lifts).
Use chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints, and special finishes.
Work around energized electrical sources and hazards (e.g., circuit breakers, wiring).
Inspect work quality and check for Foreign Object Debris (FOD).
Ensure First Pass Quality (FPQ) per engineering drawings and specifications.
Perform finger manipulation (e.g., keyboarding, other tasks).
Read from computer screens, printed drawings, or documents.
Adhere to high safety standards and compliance regulations.
Ensure FAA compliance with Quality Management System.
Required Skills:
10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
7+ years of experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing
7+ years of experience in electrical assembly and/or electronic materials
7+ years of experience in wire bundle installations and aircraft electrical systems troubleshooting
Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Strong communication skills, work ethic, and a sense of urgency to complete tasks efficiently
