Job Description:
The Operations Head in the tea industry is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing various
aspects of the operations process. This individual will be accountable for vendor dealings, purchase
order entries, and ensuring a smooth production flow. A comprehensive understanding of
production processes is essential for this role. The Operations Head will play a crucial role in
ensuring timely dispatch and delivery of goods to clients, maintaining the highest quality standards
throughout the process.
Responsibilities:
Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships and ensure effective communication to
maintain a reliable supply chain.
Purchase Order Entries: Oversee the accurate and timely entry of purchase orders, coordinating with
relevant teams to maintain inventory levels.
Production Expertise: Utilize in-depth knowledge of tea production processes to optimize production
efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Must have knowledge of BOM
Timely Dispatch and Delivery: Coordinate with logistics and distribution teams to ensure on-time
dispatch and delivery of tea products to clients.
Stock and Inventory Management: Manage incoming and outgoing stock with proper entry and
reporting. Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and implement inventory control strategies to
optimize stock turnover and reduce carrying cost.
Stock Reporting: Generate regular reports on stock levels, inventory turnover, and demand
forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
Reorder Management: Implement timely reorder processes to maintain optimal stock levels and
prevent stockouts.
Dispute Resolution: Handle disputes with vendors, clients, or within the team efficiently and
effectively, maintaining a solution-oriented approach.
Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to uphold the highest product quality
standards and adherence to industry regulations. Must have knowledge of tea blending.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the operations team, ensuring alignment with company goals
and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the
efficiency, accuracy, and productivity of operations.
Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement strategies to
enhance operational efficiency.
Client Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and
concerns, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Reporting: Prepare regular reports on operations performance, highlighting achievements and areas
for improvement.
Qualifications:
Experience: Significant experience (5+ years) in operations management within the tea industry or a
related field, with a proven track record of managing vendor relations, production processes, and
timely deliveries.
Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of tea production processes, industry trends, and
quality standards.
