1. POSITION VACANT: Technical Advisor- Cardiovascular Health, New Delhi (Remote)

2. ORGANISATION BACKGROUND:

Our client is a respected, global non-profit organization, working in the field of public health.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to and working with the Technical Director, the Technical Advisor- Cardiovascular Health (TA-CVH) will work closely with the senior technical and managerial team, the government at the central and state levels, partners and other relevant stakeholders for implementing flagship projects for improving cardiovascular health in India with a focus on hypertension control programming.

Key Job Responsibilities:
(1) Provide technical and programmatic assistance in the design and implementation of hypertension and diabetes treatment and control activities, including capacity-building, planning and implementing processes, health information systems and strengthening supervision and mentorship of service providers and supervisors;
(2) Provide support in strengthening comprehensive primary health care for the delivery of hypertension and diabetes services integrated with other national priorities like HIV/AIDS, RMNCHA+, Nutrition, and Tuberculosis, based on evidence-based standards;
(3) Provide support to the project activities, including training, on-site coaching and workshop planning, to ensure smooth implementation;
(4) Assist in planning and monitoring uninterrupted availability of hypertension and diabetes drugs at service delivery points and strengthening of overall drug procurement and supply chain systems;
(5) Work with partners and project teams to establish systems for tracking progress, and prescribed indicators and deliverables, according to agreed work plans to ensure compliance with partner and donor requirements;
(6) Conduct regular supportive supervision visits to project sites and monitor program implementation to improve the quality of care;
(7) Support rapid cycle process improvements and institutionalisation of quality improvement strategies in the supported projects and programs;
(8) Support research or any innovation strategies to scale up hypertension control programs in other areas;
(9) Support the development of knowledge management products, and prepare technical presentations, programme reports, and policy briefs using data analytics, to support organisational leadership with decision-making;
(10) Collaborate with other team members and partners for the acceleration, optimisation, and effective implementation of projects and programs;
(11) Explore private sector engagement for strengthening hypertension and diabetes control;
(12) Any other technical assistance activities assigned by the organisation.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification:

Applicants must have MBBS and/ or Post Graduate Degree in Public Health, or equivalent.

Experience:
(1) Minimum seven years of professional experience in public health programming, including at least three years of working with national/ state governments;
(2) Prior experience in Non-communicable Diseases and Health System Strengthening is desirable;
(3) Prior work experience with the state and national governments, especially with NHM, and in-depth understanding of national public health programs;
(4) Experience in providing technical assistance related to strengthening institutional and individual capacity in health systems, across all levels;
(5) Demonstrated experience in writing technical reports and proposals, policy briefs, and publications, including the development of compelling presentations with the ability to translate technical content and results in formats suitable for various audiences.

Skills and Competencies:
(1) Demonstrated ability to design, implement and drive change in large program settings;
(2) Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across diverse teams;
(3) Excellent skills in oral and written communication;
(4) Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications Suite;
(5) Languages: Strong command of English is required; Familiarity with regional Indian languages shall be an advantage.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

The gross compensation for the position is attractive. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.

6. APPOINTMENT: This is a two-year, fixed-term employment, with possibility of further extension, based on project requirements.

7. LOCATION: New Delhi

8. MODE OF WORKING: Remote

9. TRAVEL: The position requires extensive travel of approximately 8 to 10 days in a month, to different project sites.
